The former leader of the Socialist Movement for Integration party, MP Monika Kryemadhi, appeared today at the Tirana Court to file a civil lawsuit against Top Channel television and also announced a future criminal lawsuit.

The reason for this anger of the senior politician is the publication of some facts by Top Channel about payments received and given by Mrs. Kryemadhi for and from companies registered in tax havens, behind which are Russian oligarchs connected to the Kremlin.

Payment invoices were made for marketing services or shareholder dividents, according to documents that were also published by foreign media.

Kryemadhi said she wanted 400,000 euros in damages from Top Channel.

Monika Kryemadhi: Tomorrow I will follow this up with a criminal report for the criminal offense that the Top Channel company has committed against me, by presenting forged documents or even exercising blackmail or manipulating public opinion.

In addition, I also requested a financial compensation, for which I am convinced that it will go to the service of many good things for young men and women.

Journalist: Mrs. Kryemadhi, how much is this compensation?

Monika Kryemadhi: “At the moment I have requested the value of 400 thousand euros which will be a value that can later increase, considering that this amount can be added if the media company will continue to slander or falsify on my person.”

Top Channel said it only aims to bring out the truth and history has shown that there is no price or intimidation that will stop it.

Monika Kryemadhi’s civil lawsuit against Top Channel is not aimed at proving facts, but at hitting the largest national media in financial terms.

This is clearly seen in the request for compensation of 400,000 euros, which the deputy of the Freedom Party demands from Top Channel.

Top Channel is not intimidated and blackmailed by any political entity, because this media is owned by Albanians, who have been loyal to our screen for decades.
