A few days after being reconfirmed as the chairwoman of the SMI in a race without rivals, Monika Kryemadhi called the local elections of June 30 a ‘monist process’ and added that the elections in the SMI were in stark contrast to them.
“In the elections of November 21 we had a turnout of 80 percent, there was online voting and the result came out immediately, whereas in the elections of June 30 there was a turnout of less than 10 percent and after a month even though they started to change and fill up the ballot boxes, they still could not count mathematically. I would have liked to have a candidate, but I would never want the candidate to be a puppet who pretended to run.”
She added that the LSI National Convention on December 5 will be the one that will decide how the party will run in the April 25 elections. “The December 5 convention will be an electoral convention that will elect the governing structures. The convention will be clear not only in terms of the programmatic side and vision of the SMI for the April 25 elections but also what will be the direct commitment of the SMI. “For one thing to be convinced, the opposition front is united for this.”
