Krasniqi for Zog: Albania has no king

The Kosovo media are still talking about the return of Ahmet Zogu’s
remains in Albania. The Parliament Speaker of Kosovo, Jakup Krasniqi,
declared that he doesn’t know any prince or king of Albania, since in
the early 90s the Albanians decided in a referendum about the
Constitutional order of their country.

When asked by the media if he was invited by the Albanian Prime Minister in the reburying ceremony, where President Atifete Jahjaga was present, Krasniqi declared that he received no invitation, but even in that case, he wouldn’t be present in the ceremony.

“I was not invited by the Prime Minister, and you know that the Albanian Constitution is about a Parliamentary Republic. In the early 90s there was a referendum and the Albanian citizens decided about the new Constitutional order of their country, and the Constitution excludes anyone to keep the title king or prince of Albania”, Krasniqi argued.

Prime Minsiter Hashim Thaci also declared a few days ago in Parliament that the Albanians have seen nothing good from personalities like Ahmet Zog and others. Meanwhile, the President of Kosovo praised the image of Zog in Tirana.
