Kosovo’s Prime Minister Isa Mustafa has publicly position himself against Prime Minister Hashim Thaçi on the hot topic of transforming Kosovo’s Security Force in a full operational official Army. It cannot happen without coordination with the United States and NATO, Mustafa said in an anniversary meeting of his party in Podujeva.

Thaçi’s initiative seems not to have the support of the Government, after was previously strongly opposed by US ambassador in Prishtina, Greg Delavvie, saying such e decision cannot be made without the necessary constitutional changes.

Thaçi insists army creation will not be a one-sided action, but is sure Serbia will never give its approval. “I have told Prime Minister Vuçiç to exercise his influence on Serb List members for them to return to Parliament but the other side is heisting so there is no turning back, Security Force will have to transform in an army”, Thaçi said.
