The former Kosovo Ambassador to Sweden, Lulzim Peci, will become the
first Kosovo official that will work in the Serbian capital, Belgrade.
Kosovo and Serbia will exchange this Monday their liaison officials who will have their offices for the European Union integration.
In an interview for Top Channel, Peci explains the official opening of Kosovo’s mission in Belgrade. “On June 17th at 12:00, we will have the formal opening of Kosovo’s mission in Belgrade, and on the same day we will establish the liaison official of the Serbian Republic in Prishtina. I will be in Belgrade at 12:00”.
Mr.Peci says that this duty is full of challenges, since he will be in a state from which Kosovo declared independence, and also a state that doesn’t recognize it as a country.
“This is a duty for representing my fatherland in a country that has used aggression and genocide against our population. This is certainly a difficult job, full of challenges. But on the other hand, I feel privileged that I will represent Kosovo exactly in the country that tried to destroy mine”, he declared.
According to him, his duties are similar to those of any head of diplomatic missions. He adds that he will take care of all the cases that are related with the bilateral relations between the two countries.
As result of the agreement reached between Kosovo and Serbia in Brussels, on the same day, the Serbian official Dejan Pavicevic will be in Prishtina to start his new job.
