The “Adem Jashari” stadium in Mitrovica, Kosovo, welcomed today the 11
players of the first Kosovo National team, without any symbol on their
blouses, facing the team of Haiti as the first international meeting
since they received the green light from FIFA.
The match ended in a tie, without any score, regardless of the numerous occasions. But more than the result, this match was a symbolical one, since Kosovo was playing for the first time under the regulation established by FIFA, without its state symbols.
As for the stadium, the public had filled them with national flags of Kosovo and also with flags of the Albanian nation.
The meeting continued calm, regardless of the strong security measures undertaken by the Kosovo police. Many international media outlets showed interest for this match, together with the local ones.
