Kosovo votes Parliament dissolution

The President of Kosovo, Atifete Jahjaga, and other directors of
political parties, concluded the meetings in which they found consensus
for dissolving the Parliament.

“We agreed to start a coordinated process for dissolving the Parliament and declaring the early elections on June 8th. This is a mature action of the political class to agree on early elections”, declared the leader of the LDK, Isa Mustafa.

“LDK will give their vote today in Parliament. We expect to have all the votes for dissolving the Parliament”, declared the Head of the LDK, Isa Mustafa.

The Head of the AKR, Behgjet Pacolli, participated in all the meetings for the last two weeks in which the parliament dissolution was discussed, but he said he was perplexed after the meeting with the President, when they decided about a quick election agenda.

“The bigger parties had agreed to dissolve the Parliament. I don’t believe that the AKR vote will change anything. I understood that the PDK and the LDK had agreed for the elections, probably on June 8th”, Pacolli declared.

President Jahjaga told the political leaders that she will respect the Constitution right after the dissolution of Parliament, to announce the early elections in the most optimal deadline.

The Head of the AAK, Ramush Haradinaj, was not present in this meeting with the President. But yesterday he had confirmed that the AAK Parliament Members approve the dissolution of the Parliament.

The Self-Determination Movement and the minority parties were not invited in this meeting.

Top Channel has learned that Jahjaga will summon the representatives of all subjects to reach consensus on the election day. This Friday she is expected to announce June 8th as the Election Day.
