The Kosovo Agency for Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety has
signed a cooperation memorandum with the US Energy Department.
The memorandum aims to prevent illegal traffic f nuclear and radio-active materials. The responsible institutions will be the US National Administration for Nuclear Safety, and the Kosovo Police.
Beqir Mezelxhiu, Chief of the Kosovo agency, said the purpose of this memorandum is to establish a high level of nuclear safety, so that Kosovo can fulfill the international obligations for preventing radi-active materials.
Rick Clarke, representative from the US Energy Department said the memorandum also shows the further cooperation between Kosovo and the USA.
