Kosovo, US Embassy demands transparency about deportation of Turkish college employees

The US Ambassador to Kosovo, Greg Delawie, reacted against the detention of Turkish citizens, professors and directors of the “Mehmet Akif” colleges, and their mysterious deporting to Kosovo.

Delawie said that he is following the developments very closely. He wrote on Twitter that the transparency and commitment to the process, and the rule of law, are vital.

The episode and harsh reactions that spurred after it made all Kosovo leaders hold a meeting (President Thaci, Prime Minister Haradinaj, Deputy PM/Foreign Minister Pacolli and Fatmir Limaj, leader of the Social Democratic Initiative(NISMA).

Thaci was the first to leave the meeting held in a Prishtina restaurant.

According to local media, there around 200 of the so-called “gulenists” in Kosovo, wanted by Turkey.
