The Kosovo Parliament Speaker, Kadri Veseli, visited the Newco Ferronickel Company in Drenas.
Veseli emphasized the significance of this company not only to the Drenas commune, impacting the wellbeing of hundreds of local workers, but to the rest of the country as well, since it accounts for 35% of total exports.
“Everyone is happy that the Ferronickel plant is back at full capacity with the investments made by the newest investor, Balfin Group. Our institutions will keep supporting the improvement of its operative capacities”, Veseli declared.
The Balfin Group President, Samir Mane, underlined that he will keep supporting the company he just acquired: “I will offer full support to the Newco Ferronickel, for increasing production capacities, creating new jobs and having a closer relationship with its community”.
Mane, owner of the Balfin Group, has made many investments on this factory, with the purpose to stabilize it.
Balfin Group aims to make other investments on the Newco Ferronickel so that the potential of the plant can be fully reached.
With more than 800 workers, it is the biggest employer in Kosovo. It is also responsible for at least 1000 other jobs related to the supply with raw materials and logistics, in Kosovo and Albania as well.
