The Parliament of Kosovo gathered this Saturday to vote the new government that will be led by Ramush Haradinaj.
Haradinaj presented some of the priorities of his cabinet, reinforcing the rule of law, NATO accession, EU integration and dialogue with Serbia.
“Kosovo today is threatened by new and old dangers. That’s why we need internal security at first, reinforced law and order. Kosovo must feel safe only with the NATO accession. We will work to take it to NATO. Accession in international organizations is more difficult now, but we are going to work for this. We will work in a record time to implement the Association Stabilization Agreements, and we will receive the candidate status. We are also going to improve relations with the USA, a friendship that is forever, not just in difficult times. As for the region, there is no other alternative except for dialogue with Serbia”, Haradinaj said.
Promising to be the Prime Minister of everyone, including minorities, Haradinaj addressed them in Serbian.
The representative of the Self-Determination Movement, Glauk Konfjuca, spoke right after Haradinaj and asked a motion against the government. “The program was short because it was poor. Since this is the situation, and now we have learned the names, I propose the Haradinaj government to be voted right here, right now. We want a motion”, Konjufca declared.
MP Avdullah Hoti from the LDK supported the initiative of the Self-Determination Movement, but in absence of the Serbian List MPs, Speaker Kadri Veseli continued the session with a discussion and a 15-minute interruption.
