Kosovo says “no” to Presheva

The government of Kosovo does not support the idea of Presheva Albanians
to declare independence from Serbia. The Deputy Prime Minister of
Kosovo, Hajredin Kuci, referred to this matter by saying that the
government of Kosovo cannot give promises that cannot keep.

“The Albanians, wherever they are, cannot play the paternalist role. We are equal brothers. In this sense, each has his own policy. We help them in the general national interests, but we invite them to work harder with the international factor, in terms of preserving their human and national rights, and in order to work for the EU integration. We cannot guarantee other than this, or things that we cannot keep”, declared the second person in charge of the Kosovo Government, Hajredin Kuci,

The border change ideas are classified as generators of crises by the Deputy Prime Minister. He added that Kosovo supports the complete respecting of the borders and EU integration. As for Kosovo’s achievement to defend its northern border, the Kosovo Deputy PM gave this evaluation:

“Northern Kosovo is currently held by criminals, but they will never be legal, not even by the opposition of this government. I advise the Albanians wherever they might be, even in Presheva, that there cannot be politics with inertia”, Kuci declared.

The head of the Presheva Commune, Ragmi Mustafa, declared on a phone conversation that will not judge Kosovo’s judgment upon this issue. According to him, Kosovo’s government is busy preserving the territorial integrity of the Republic of Kosovo, which the Presheva representatives support.

Mustafa expressed his belief that the Government of Kosovo will think over the will of the Presheva citizens, when the Assembly of Councilors in Presheva, Medvegja and Bujanoc will release a joint stance.

This Assembly, according to Ragmi Mustafa, is expected to react same as the Northern Serbs would react, who have warned of announcing independence.
