The President of Kosovo, Hashim Thaci, wrote a letter to the US President, Donald Trump, in which he says that his country is ready to resolve long-term matters between countries.
Serbia and Kosovo have interrupted the dialogue since November, when Prime Minister Haradinaj issued a 100% tax on goods imported from Serbia and Bosnia Herzegovina.
During the same time, President Thaci said that an agreement was possible between Serbia and Kosovo, involving territorial exchange, which Haradinaj strongly opposes.
It is unclear why Thaci published the letter right now, but his plan for territorial exchanges has alarmed many countries in the region, and several Western governments.
