The Kosovo Police has arrested the leader of the Self-Determination Movement, Albin Kurti, after an order issued by the Prishtina Court a few days ago, when he refused to appear in court.

Kurti is being accused of throwing tear gas in Parliament last year, when the Self-Determination Movement was protesting against the parliament’s session which would ratify the new border agreement with Montenegro and the Association of Serbian Communes, deriving from the dialogue with Serbia.

MPs of the Self-Determination Movement gathered in front of the Parliament today, which was surrounded by a high number of police officers.

One day ago, Judge Beqir Kalludra ordered the arrest of MPs Kurti, Kadaj-Bujupi and Haxhiu, for failing to appear in court for their “tear-gas” trial.
