Kosovo police alert on terrorist threats

Security institutions in Kosovo have been concerned after hearing
conversations of extremists in Syria calling their relatives in Kosovo
and telling them to not try to travel to Syria, but to operate from
there. The highest government leaders have ordered the security sectors
to take all necessary measures and increase the number of police
officers on the streets and possible targets.
Top Channel contacted with the Spokesperson of the Police, Baki Kelani, who said that police is monitoring every movement of people who might put the public order at risk. He guaranteed that the Kosovo Police has the necessary capacities to prevent any kind of extremism. He added that the police has submitted reports for 130 persons tied with organizations, recruits and funding of terrorism, and that they are cooperating with the Prosecution.
80 persons have been arrested so far and more than 100 houses have been searched. However, Kosovo institutions give no explanation if the increased police presence is due to fear of ISIS attacks during Ramadan.
