The Kosovo Parliament failed once again to chose their Speaker and Vice
Speaker, due to the absence of MPs from the coalition between PDK and
Nisma, PAN. MPs representing minorities were also absent.

Present in this session were only the Parliament Members of the Self-Determination Movement and those from the coalition between the Kosovo Democratic League, New Kosova Alliance, Alternativa and LAA.

Adem Mikullovci who led this session said in front of the 61 present MPs that the session will be interrupted and will continue another day, due to the absence of Parliament Members.

The representatives of the PAN coalition said they would not be present to the constitutive session, due to what they called “an arbitrary summon by the Speaker”.

The Self-Determination Movement MP, Glauk Konjufca, said that the ones whoa re boycotting Parliament should be held responsible politically and morally.

“This is unacceptable by democracy standards. This is a violation of democracy. They are withholding institutions because of a name, and they are trying to win more time so that they can pressure other MPs and convince them to vote a Speaker that is not wanted in Kosovo’s Parliament. We don’t condemn this practice that has nothing to do with a country that calls itself a democracy”, Konfjuca said.

Konfjuca invited PAN to stop the boycott and propose their candidate for Speaker.
