The Parliament of Kosovo voted this Saturday the new government that will be led by Ramush Haradinaj as Prime Minister.
The votes need for the quorum came from the Serbian List. With 62 votes in favor, the PAN coalition comes to power, made of an union between former Kosovo Liberation Army commanders.
The votes of the party representing the Serbian minority in Kosovo arrived at the last minutes, after long consults with their leaders in Belgrade.
Haradinaj presented the priorities of his cabinet during the opening speech, which are the rule of law, NATO accession, EU integration and dialogue with Serbia.
“Kosovo today is threatened by new and old dangers. That’s why we need internal security at first, reinforced law and order. Kosovo must feel safe only with the NATO accession. We will work to take it to NATO. Accession in international organizations is more difficult now, but we are going to work for this. We will work in a record time to implement the Association Stabilization Agreements, and we will receive the candidate status. We are also going to improve relations with the USA, a friendship that is forever, not just in difficult times. As for the region, there is no other alternative except for dialogue with Serbia”, Haradinaj said.
Promising to be the Prime Minister of everyone, including minorities, Haradinaj addressed them in Serbian.
