The Parliament of Kosovo gathered for a plenary session two days after
the protests and celebrations for the 8th anniversary of independence.
The Parliament has been surrounded by a huge number of police forces, while security forces have entered inside.
All these measures didn’t stop the opposition from releasing gas in the Palriament, while there were physical confrontations inside.
Parliament Speaker Kadri Veseli continued the session by reading the draft resolution through which the Parliament opposes the Serbian sentencing of some KLA leaders.
After this resolution, Veseli interrupted the session. The security workers at the Parliament room had been equipped with gas masks.
Deputy PM Thaci spoke about the declaration made on the Independence Day, and the phrase “the opposition left the protest with the tail between the legs”.
“They misunderstood me with this declaration. My declaration was addressed to the opposition leaders”, he said.
“The action of today fall against the European perspective of Kosovo, since today we are discussing the visa liberalization. We invite the opposition to behave with responsibility and ethics. The only solution is normality”, Thaci added.
The Head of the “Initiative”, Fatmir Limaj, reiterated the opposition’s requests for early elections.
