An ugly incident happened this week in the city of Durrës, where four vacationers from Kosovo were held hostage for more than one hour in the parking space of an apartament building.

The four youngsters wanted to spend a few days of vacation on the beach, but the owner of one of the apartments where they were looking for accommodation, together with another person, turned their experience into a nightmare.

Dritan Kuçaj and Nexhmi Xhili held them hostage for at least 45 minutes, with the claim that they had not made the payment for the accommodation in their apartment.

The young people turned to people who offer rooms for rent in their apartments on the beach. They went to see the rooms in Kucaj’s apartment and did not like the conditions, so they wanted to leave in search of another accommodation.

The owners of the beach accomodation insisted that they take their rooms and in an effort to secure the desired clientele, they locked the four Kosovars in the garage.

One of the youngsters called the police about the incident which intervened immediately, putting an end to the ugly situation on the big beach of Durrës.

The police services arrested the two perpetrators, the 49-year-old man and the 48-year-old accommodation owner.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor’s Office at the Court of First Instance of the General Jurisdiction of Durrës, for further actions.
