Five family members died after a shooting Tuesday at a home in the town of Gjilan, as a Kosovo Police officer shot four members of her family and then turned the gun on herself.
“Based on preliminary investigation, it is suspected the police officer Valdete Bllaca, working in the police station of Gjilan, has shot dead her parents, two of her brothers, and then committed suicide,” stated the Gjilan Prosecution Office in a press release.
The officer who allegedly killed his parents, brothers and herself had been a police officer for 18 years. Bllaca originally worked in Pristina, and that moved to Gjilan five years ago.
