The Office of the Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti has not answered media questions regarding the “Open Balkan” meeting that gathered today in Belgrade Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Macedonian representative Nikola Dimitrov.
However, government sources said that Kosovo is not part of the initiative, so they prefer not to comment on these developments. They added that the attitudes of the Government of Kosovo against this initiative “are already known” and have not changed.
“The Government of Kosovo is the Government of a sovereign state. We represent the people of Kosovo after the elections we have won massively, as never before, and any cooperation that takes place, is done in accordance with our interests.
“We do not consider it in the interest of Kosovo, with Serbia still denying war crimes, and does not recognize our independence, to come together and decide with a majority of votes there,” hthey stated last month.
Kurti had previously told that the “Berlin Process” was the right framework and path for the integration of the six Western Balkan states into the European Union, calling it aas much sufficientso that there was no need for “other alternatives”.
