A silent funeral was held today in the Gjonomadh village, Korce, after the tragedy that shook the entire nation. The
four victims of Bashkim Letollari were buried today in their village, while his house is under police watch.
All residents gathered to accompany the bodies to their last home, but none of them spoke to the media about the cause of this massacre.
The bodies of Rexhep and Valentina Metellari were withdrawn from morgue by their daughter, who lives in the city.
The couple had left prison two years ago, after serving time for a murder they committed in 1992.
The cause of this tragedy seems to have been a an extra-marital affair.
Bashkim Letollari killed four people in cold blood, and waited for the police. He confessed that his only motive was his affair with a married woman, one of his victims, who decided to end her relation with the killer.
After receiving this news, the killer executed his lover and her husband, and then the Metellari couple, whom he accused of interfering and convincing Daniela to leave him.
Letollari says he suspected he was the father of Daniela’s younger child, and that he was ready to marry her, but she had decided to stay with her husband.
