Forty families that profited apartments from the state program years ago, now are in danger of being thrown out.
After several years of knocking on doors of institutions, the forty families who benefited apartment buildings in 2006, might be thrown out since they have not signed the agreement yet. The families were sheltered in 2006, and based on the law, they should have paid a small amount of money. By the Entity of Residences has not signed their agreement. A new law entered in effect in 2007, and it makes the residents pay the apartments with real-market prices.
The Municipality has explained that if they don’t sign the agreements and start paying, they will take measures to take them away from their homes.
The worst thing about this situation is the fact that with the new agreement they are considered tenants, and now, after five years, they have the right to make the privatization. But they cannot feel safe even with this, and don’t know if it will be realized.
