Korce, head of Omonia sentenced to prison

Head of OMONIA, an association for Greek minorities in Albania, was
sentenced to one year in prison for violating Boboshtica tombs.

Naum Disho was sentenced for only one of the charges, that of violating Boboshtica tombs wile making construction works for a memorial that honors Greek soldiers killed in Albania.

The Court ruled that the charges of illegal construction are unfounded, therefore the three accused were sentenced for only one criminal act, that of tomb violation.

Naum Disho was sentenced to one year in prison, while the two workers, Alqi Koroveshi and Luan Zaçe were sentenced with 18 months in probation.

The head of the OMONIA declared that the Court decision is politically affected due to his Vlach-Greek origin. He admitted sponsoring the construction works on the cemetery, but, according to him, this was done for honoring two dead soldiers. The accused declared that they will appeal the court’s decision.
