Korca has resolved the tap water problem for the past 15 years, thanks to a project that renewed the entire network of the city.
From 2003, Korca citizens have tap water 24/7, and they have been mentioned recently as a positive model on water management.
The Mayor of korce, Sotiraq Filo, explains how the investment was realized and tells the experience of the city which pays 65 ALL for cubic meter.
“There are three factors that have made Korca a model city for its water management: the investment, management and understanding of citizens. This investment had to be followed by a higher price”, says Mayor Sotiraq Filo.
Citizens say they are happy with the service and with the water. Korca has the highest number of paying customers, which proves that the water supply is very important for its citizens.
“We have running water at every place. We pay the bills regularly, every month”, a citizen says.
Korca also has a new management network, which makes it possible to manage and process sewage water.
