It has become now a tradition to organize the Apple Festival in the village of Dvoran in Korça, in southeastern Albania.
The event aims to promote this well-known product of the local farmers. But it seems that despite their efforts, they still face problems. The selling price is low while the market is small, and many farmers raise as a concern the lack of cool storage capacity.
Although farmers have made their requests year after year they have not found a solution by the authorities.
This is the 6th edition of the apple festival organized by the Municipality of Korça, while it still remains a challenge to solve the market problems, as a part of the farmers in past years have thrown their products in the river, while others have cut their orchards
as the work and effort go in vain.
