The Kolonje churches are crumbling to pieces due to the abandonment by the respective institutions.
Three of the earliest churches in this district, which date from the 17th century, now have lost their identity and have turned into piles of ruins.
The Shen Mehill church in Shala; the Fjetje e Julinces church in Barmash, and the Shen Meri in Cercke, although they have been declared as first category culture monuments, are difficult to be found anywhere.
Father Kristaq Tase declared that these cult objects have been abandoned by our state, and he asked them to be returned to the church, so that they can bring them to their original identity.
The residents say that these monuments were very special, and regardless their current situation, they are very valuable.
Dozens of churches in Korce have turned into ruins due to the lack of funds by the state for the restoration.
