Kodheli visits Athens

The Albanian Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli, is attending an official
visit in Greece. After the official reception ceremony, Mrs.Kodheli was
received by the Greek Prime Minister, Andonis Samaras.

Mr. Samras welcomed Mrs. Kodheli and congratulated her for the office of Minister of Defence of Albania. “Being a female Defence Minister in a country that is a NATO member means a lot and this is a very strong message”,  the Greek Prime Minister declared.

The Greek Prime Minister declared that Greece wishes to reinforce the relations with Albania.

“This is the time to improve our NATO and mutual agreements. On our point of view, things have changed positively for both our countries”, Samaras underlined.

The Greek PM added that his country passed a difficult period, but the economy is now recovering and that they are certain for a better future.

Minister Kodheli thanked PM Samaras for the reception and congratulated Greece for the EU presidency, saying that Albania wishes to receive the status during the Greek presidency.

Following her visit, Defence Minister Kodheli laid a wreath at the monument of the “Unknown Soldier” at the Sindagma Square in Athens.

The visit continued with her counterpart, the Greek Minister of Defence, Mr. Dimtris Avramopoulos, who valued PM Rama as a modern and visionary politician.

It is a modern and visionary politician, and Albania is lucky to have such a politician, that enhances the values of the country”, stated Mr. Avramopoulos for Prime Minister Rama.

Avramopoulos declare that this cooperation will be very fruitful for resutrcuring the Albanian Armed Forces, in which Greece will offer its support.

“This meeting is a message of peace and stability in the region and beyond, in view of good neighbourliness. We will strongly support you on your path towards EU membership”, the Greek Minister of Defence stated.
