Reporting for the first 300 days, the Minister of Defense, Mimi Kodheli,
declared that every cent that will be spent will be scrutinized by the
judiciary.
“The number of cases we will send to the Prosecution will keep adding. Every cent spent by the Defense budget will be scrutinized by the judiciary. I want to make it clear that we will fight corruption very strongly. We are watching only what has happened in the past. We are carefully watching every activity that might have corruptive consequences. No one is untouchable”, Kodheli declared.
As regards the modernization of the army, the Minister declared that soon they will create the battalion of motorized infantry, and that for the first time an Albanian military unit will not use the AK-47 as part of their personal armament, but M4 Carabine, which uses NATO approved ammunition.
