The “Imami” case caused a debate in Parliament between the Minister of
Defense, Mimi Kodheli, and her democratic predecessor, Arben Imami,
accused of corruption and power abuse, while Imami accused back by
saying that this is a personal attack.

“What we already knew before we came to power, we are now discovering with facts from within the government. We’re finding new caves of corruption”, Kodheli declared.

“Discover what you can, but it’s unforgivable that you’re undertaking attacks against persons”, Imami declared.

“We are ordered by the law. You don’t need to be a psychiatrist to note the fear in every threat written down by the former Minister. Everyone would feel fear in his conditions, knowing what he has done”, Kodheli declared.

“Other people don’t fear the Prosecution like you did in 1992, when you left the Post Office for 24 hours, to evade a confrontation with the justice. Don’t think that we don’t know how you left from the American Bank”, Imami declared.

For the first time, the former Prime Minister Sali Berisha did not get involved in a complex debate. He only accused Mrs.Kodheli of not respecting the regulation, and declared that the new government is incapable to undertake reforms.
