10/04/2017 00:00

The European Commission expects the political leaders and institutions
in Macedonia to allow the democratic processes in the country. According
to official Brussels, this includes the appointing of the new
Parliament Speaker, and then the formation of the new government without
delays.

“We expect for this to take place in Macedonia. We are following the recent developments, and we insist that the election results must be accepted. The current stalemate is unnecessary. The government should be constituted without delays, based on the parliamentary majority. The EU High Representative, Federica Mogherini, and Commissioner Hahn, appealed the President to review his position. We expect all political leaders and institutions to allow the democratic process to take place. This includes the appointing of the Parliament Speaker, something we would want without delays”, said the EC spokesperson, Maja Kocijancic.
