It has recently been submitted to the Albanian Parliament for approval a normative act for an addition to the Social Insurance Law, for pensions to persons injured by state agencies actions.
The legal document is symbolically known as the “Rasha” document as it was born from the serious event of the murder of 25-year-old Klodian Rasha by a police officer, who is now charged with murder.
“These events cause not only pain in the family but also financial consequences and great difficulties”, said Alket Hyseni of the ruling SP.
Opposition MPs called it a shameful and arrogant act by the state. “Normative acts to compensate families, who have lost their people due to the arrogance of the state, are shameful acts, as citizens ask for protection and justice,” said MP Murrizi of the Democratic Party.
A few days ago the government issued a decision to award a pension to the family of the late Klodian Rasha who was killed by police.
Following this decision, the government has decided to extend this act effectively to other persons who for various reasons lose their lives or are harmed by the actions of state bodies.
