Albanian Analyst based in Macedonia, Kim Mehmeti, declared on Top Channel’s “Top Talk” with journalist Denis Dyrnjaja that our politicians would rather have several Albanian states.
“Our politicians may wear modern Versace suits, but their mentality is still that of the London Conference, in 1913. It is unimaginable how there is no pan-Albanian consensus about the Albanian issue in Macedonia. They expect us to believe that Serbia will simply give Presheva away to Kosovo. No one believes that the Prime Minister of Albania will ever discuss the Chameria issue with the Greek Prime Minister”, Mehmeti said.
“We don’t have a common past because we have been living in separate homes. We didn’t create a common present either. Our politicians would rather have five separate Albanian states”, Mehmeti declared.
As for the border correction with Serbia, the Albanian analyst from Macedonia said that the territory exchange is a Serbian idea. “Thaci wants to save himself. Kosovo media outlets are speaking about a possible investigation at the Special Court. Some things will be revealed after certain people will start responding for what has happened”.
As for the referendum in Macedonia, Mehmeti said that if it fails, it would also be the failure of the international factor and of their efforts for a multi-ethnic Macedonia.
“Albanians have always been in favour because they don’t have a Plan B. The Plan B of Macedonians is a pro-Russian stance. I think that divisions between Albanians and Macedonians will be deeper with this referendum”, he said.
