trial in prison for the murder of the 35 year old Mirela
Spahiu, mother of two. (UPDATE)
Hykollari was arrested a few hours after the murder and was sent to court. The prosecutor asked the judge to send him to prison while waiting the trial, based on undeniable evidence that prove the 60-year-old as the killer of Mirela Spahiu.
The defending lawyer asked the court to send the defendant to a psychiatric facility due to his mental health conditions, but this argument was not taken in consideration. Halim Hykollari, a construction worker, had intimate relations with the victim who had been divorced many years ago, mother of two children. After meeting in a hotel in Pogradec, Hykollari killed the young woman by hitting her with a hammer to the head, then left the scene. The motive of the crime apparently was jealousy.
