KFOR: Northern roadblocks removed

KFOR commanders declared that they have convinced the Serbian community
in Northern Kosovo to remove the roadblocks that were placed during the
night in Zupc village, Mitrovica.

“After talking to them, the roadblock was removed during the night. It is true that there is some tension in the area, but the situation is relatively calm and there is freedom of movement”, declared the Spokesperson Hans Dieter Vichter.

Vichter did not give any detail for NATO’s engagement in Northern Kosovo, but he reemphasized the readiness of his troops for confronting any situation.

“We will not publish details for the operations or the number of soldiers, but you must be sure that we have enough troops to face any kind of situation”, he added.

The roadblocks were placed by the Serbian citizens in protest against the Kosovo Police and EULEX operations for arresting the killer of Enver Zymberi and those who set the border checkpoint to fire.
