KESH: Historic exports

The electric power exports have reached the highest historic levels by easing the already problematic budget of the Albanian Power Corporation (KESH).

Recent official data suggest that KESH is exporting 10 million KWh of energy each day. This amount of export allows KESH to encash around 10 million EUR each month.

Sources from KESH say that the high export levels are expected to continue in the upcoming months, due to the large reserve in the cascade. The water level in Fierze has reached the maximal point of 296.9 meters.

The hydropower plants are working at full capacity by fulfilling the need of the market, and by also exporting it. Only in the last two months, KESH has encashed around 20 millioN EUR from the energy sold abroad.

This situation gives a huge help to KESH, which has had large debts to private banks and their suppliers, especially to the small energy producers who have built concession HPPs.

Besides this, the sales are providing positive figures for the Albanian exports, which increased with 17% for the first three months, compared to the same period of one year ago.
