Coroners have concluded that Ilir Kareli, the Albanian prisoner who
killed a guard in a Greek prison, died due to violence inflicted on him.
Top Channel resources at the Fier Coroner Office say that the 40-year-old prisoner had several hematomas, broken ribs, fractured skull, broken faces and severe swelling of one eye.
Experts explain that the Fier Coroners have reached the same conclusion of the Greek one, which declared that the prisoner had suffered extreme violence.
The final conclusions of the coroners will be official within three days. A verified copy of the results will be given to the Fier Prosecution, which has asked an autopsy of Kareli’s body by Albanian coroners.
Kareli was sentenced in a Greek prison for robbery, where he killed one prison guard after not being allowed to meet his mother. He passed away after committing this crime, due to violence possibly inflicted by other guardians.
