After two failed meetings with the Kamza Mayor, Xhelal Mziu, citizens protested again today but it lasted only 10 minutes.
Environmentalist Sazan Guri said that the protest was interrupted after they were told that Mayor Mziu demanded one week to find a solution to the problem.
The Dritas neighborhood citizens complained for years about the burning of waste materials. They say this environmental crime is damaging their health.
The Kamza Mayor said that the project for building a landfill in Valias has been discussed last year, but, according to Mziu, it was rejected by the government.
Protesters say for Top Channel that the request to postpone the case for one week may be just one further delay by the Kamza Mayor, but they promise for bigger gatherings if it is not resolved.
