Kadare’s manuscript enters archive

This action was undertaken after judge Bledar Abdullai ordered to keep the manuscript temporarily at the archive, until the case will be resolved.

The manuscript was handed over in the presence of Nexhmije Hoxha’s defensive lawyer, Ismail Kadare and a bailiff.

Based on the report signed by the parties, there are 1252 pages that have been registered, same as the judge demanded. The trial between Kadare and the widow of the former Albanian dictator, Enver Hoxha, will continue in September.

Kadare wants to regain the property rights of the manuscript that according to him was taken from his house in 1972 by Nexhmije Hoxha.

Hoxha claims that the manuscript has been donated, but Kadare says that Hoxha had asked to take the manuscript for keeping it in a better environment and he could not object the most powerful woman of the regime.
