The justice reform was voted in principle by the opposition and majority, who reached the first agreement.
The Chairman of the Justice Reform Commission, Fatmir Xhafaj, underlined that “this vote in principle for the constitutional court was also thanks to the contribution of the opposition”.
“We need to work quicker. If there is good will, we will complete it on time. The process is divided in six chapters. I have proposed this division: “Integration, constitutional court, judiciary, new institutions, Prosecution, the vetting”, Xhafaj said, adding that he expects the process to end very soon.
“We will work every day to finalize every chapter. There is no reason why to not complete it shortly. The debate has been exhausted. There are few issues that need political decision making”, Xhafaj said.
The Democratic Party MP, Eduard Halimi, said that the negotiations for the political matters must start soon.
“Today’s process took another step for the article-to-article discussion. The opposition’s stance is to vote in favor”, Halimi said.
But the Democratic Party MP underlined that the voting in favor doesn’t mean that will be there even for political matters.
