The Albanian PM, Edi Rama, said that the fight against corruption starts
with the justice reform, which will help clean the judiciary system.
Rama said the judiciary can turn into a system that guarantees
constitutional equality.
The US Ambassador, Donald Lu, declared that the justice reform should give its first effects on corrupted politicians. He said that the results should depend on the expectancies of the Albanian people. Lu added there are already evidence of politicians involved in crime, from all sides.
“Because they fear justice, they tell lies about the EU ambassador, the EURALIUS mission and the Constitutional Court. As the President of the Constitutional Court said, they send a new translation to the Venice Commission, but there were no translation distinctions. We are waiting for a decision from the Venice Commission, which will instruct the reform”, Lu said.
The US diplomat said that drug traffickers should be afraid with the implementation of the reform. And those who try to delay the reform, according to Lu, are afraid of it.
