Justice reform, DP: “SP rejected Venice recommendations”
13/01/2016 11:15
One day after the publishing of the justice reform draft by
highest-level experts, the DP representatives accuse the majority of
trying to grab control in the judiciary system. They insist on the
voting with 2/3rds of the votes.
“We proposed that people should be appointed in the justice system with a parliamentary majority, so that no Prime Minister is allowed to control the justice system. The current situation in Parliament is that Edi Rama has a 84 vote majority, verified by the Venice Commission”, Halimi declared.
The recommendations of the Venice Commission say that the passing of these laws with 84 votes will assert a political capturing of the justice system.
