The Democratic Party leader, Lulzim Basha, spoke about the draft of his
party regarding the justice reform. The DP has a consolidated draft that
will serve to the basis of our negotiations. Our vision goes along with
the recommendations of the Venice Commission”, Basha said.

“The opposition is showing credibility and good will to progress. It was up to the majority to take these steps. As for the architecture of the system, Venice said that it is complicated and they have doubts, but they met with Xhafaj who assured them about this. They said that they will agree with the structure, if both parties agree with it. It is not that easy. The system architecture needs to be simplified in order to serve citizens. If we want jobs with 6 million ALL a month for politicians, that’s OK. But this is not a justice reform”, Basha explained.

As for the surveillance scandal, Basha said: “We want transparency from the Interior Minister, the police and the Prime Minister. But they want turmoil. Our pre-condition for the investigation of this scandal is the resignation of the Interior Minister”.
