The Minister of Justice, Etilda Gjonaj, said that the Property Reform has started, as all property titles in the coast are temporarily suspended.
“The property reform will be thorough and all-inclusive, with the purpose to resolve once and for all the matters of tourism properties. The chaos with property titles will remain in the history of Albania’s modern state as the biggest obstacle for a stable economic growth”, Gjonaj declared.
She added that the scanning of properties in the coastline will not affect legal owners.
“The criminal schemes discovered recently in Lezha and Kavaja are a clear model of the model followed by abusers. This decision aims to clear the way of legal owners and the state from abuse and corruption. This decision does not stop returning of property to legal owners, as the opposition has been trying to make it appear. On the contrary, it aims to guarantee that the property will be returned to legal owners and not to law violators. The suspension is just a temporary measure that will allow state institutions to verify the property titles released along the seaside, and divide once and for all legal owners from property thieves”, the Ministry declared.
