The organizations that supervise the justice system in Kosovo complain that some judges and prosecutors were appointed without merit for their posts.
These organizations want to apply a mechanism for measuring their performance.
2020 is known by them as the ideal year for starting the vetting process, which is considered as the only way to bring back the trust to the judiciary.
“Let’s hope that 2020 will bring out the political will of the next government to start the preparations for a vetting process at the Republic of Kosovo. We understand that the vetting process cannot start immediately within 2020, because that would require preparations. On the other hand, we have reiterated in the last 6 and 7 years that without having a vetting process, it will be almost impossible to revive the judiciary system in such a way to address the requests of the citizens of Kosovo, in order to offer a judiciary that is based on law, impartial and equal for all the citizens of Kosovo”, said Ehat Miftaraj.
