The Democratic Party claims that 5 out of 10 candidates that were chosen by lots to be appointed members of the High Councils of Prosecution and the Judiciary, have problems that delegitimize the entire process.

“If there was consensus, all judiciary institutions would have been created today”, declared Oerd Bylykbashi from the Democratic Party.

The legal adviser of the Democratic party, Gazmend Bardhi, had the detailed documents for every case: “Identifying problems with the criteria is a constitutional obligation”, Bardhi said.

According to the Democratic Party, Altin Hazizaj, Sokol Lamaj and Ilir Panda should not be part of the High Council for the Judiciary, while Kozma Jano and Alfred Balla should have been removed from the High Council for the Prosecution.

Both the DP and SMI say that the candidates were hiding documents and data, avoiding this way the evaluation of the International Monitoring Operation.

Petrit Vasili, Head of the Parliamentary Group of the SMI, said that the process has been deeply compromised.

Kozma Jano reacted and denied the authenticity of the document published by the Democratic Party, claiming that he had been collaborating with the former communist Secret Service. Jano said that he has never had any party membership card.

The Parliament will try to appoint the members through consensus for three times. However, the third list will remain into effect if the Parliament will not have 94 votes.
