Judges, no to pressures

While some
judge panels are reviewing sensitive cases, involving high rank
politicians, the Union of Judges appealed the political class to serve
the citizens in the same was as the judges face each day criminals and
dangerous bands, giving life sentences or by fighting political
corruption and drug dealers.

The Union of Judges emphasized that judges condemn any attack based on momental political interests and do not need the protection of the others who will attack them later, and who exchange roles with each other, making an absurd political theater.

On the other hand, the Union of Judges expressed their concern that politics tries to avoid the responsibility delegated by the Albanian citizens for a good governing. The judicial system is independent from the government, but is part of a good governing.

Judges say that politics, instead of committing for realizing the responsibilities coming from the EU Integration challenge, only damage this process with unilateral attacks against judges, in the efforts to transfer the political cost and to manipulate the opinion for not fulfilling their obligations for a good governing.

Judges react very rarely towards the political class with such declarations, exactly when pressure is very visible and when the courts become protagonists of the political life in the country.
