Judge Shkelqim Miri appealed the security measure given by the Court of First Instance for Serious Crimes, which left him in prison.
Accused of corruption and suspended from the High Council of Justice, Miri addressed the Court to give him house arrest until trial.
Prosecution’s surveillance shows the judge’s cousin taking money from an inter-mediator sent by Gentian Doda, extradited from America as a dangerous person of high interest for the police.
Judge Miri changed the charges against Gentian Doda from intentional murder to injury.
The Prosecution found 174,000 EUR at the Judge’s home, 10 million ALL and 1000 USD.
