Judge investigated for neglecting verdict that could have saved woman’s life

Fier Police is investigating a judge over power abuse. The judge gave
the protection order for Liljana Rukaj, the woman who died this
Saturday, after her husband threw her from their apartment window.

Judge Ergys Selmani has neglected to send the verdict on time, so that the authorities could give her protection. As result, police say, her husband killed her.

The Minister of Justice, Ylli Manjani, has greeted the decision to start an investigation against the judge.

Police has arrested the 52-year-old husband, Ferdinand Rukaj.
