John McCain visits Kosovo

John McCain, US Senator and former candidate for President of the USA,
visited Kosovo this Thursday and held a speech in front of the
Parliament.

Two days ago McCain was in Belgrade, where he said that Balkan problems should be addressed by dialogue between parties. He underlined that the region needs peace, and expressed the increasing influence of Russia. He expressed the same message in Bosnia.

McCain did not include Macedonia during his tour. This move is considered by analysts as a very strong message for the current crisis. The former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Denko Maleski, believes that John McCain was advised to avoid Skopje due to the political situation, which is not being resolved based on democratic practices.

Mersel Bilalli, professor of International Law at the Fon University, Skopje, says this avoiding means something is wrong with Macedonia.

Janush Bugajski, expert for Balkan, said that Moscow is trying to open new fronts in Balkan, with the purpose to deteriorate the Macedonian political crisis.
